The Arts
Bradford Christian Academy encourages artistic expression and appreciation of the visual and performing arts across the curriculum. Through our classes in music and communication arts, theater, film, and fine arts, our students grow in their creative nature, develop their God-given abilities, and reflect the creative image of God. Our students harness their creative talents under the guidance of our gifted teachers, as they cultivate and enjoy their emerging talents. BCA offers students a variety of opportunities to perform and to exhibit their art throughout the year.
Communication Arts is offered to all students in grades 5-8. Throughout the year, students will be participating in all forms of communication arts, including acting, media messages, public speaking, and rhetorical criticism.
Theater Production is offered as a fall elective to high school students. This class is focused on set design, lighting, sound, and staging for the fall plays.
Film is offered as a spring elective to high school students. This class will write, film, and direct one act film shorts to be presented in the spring...
Christmas Celebration Concert: A Christmas production allows students the opportunity to integrate faith in learning through various artistic mediums celebrating the birth of Christ. The dramatic and musical performances are selected to reflect the glory of our Lord and Savior and to highlight the talents of our students.
Theater: Dramatic productions, held in the fall and spring, allow students to integrate more intensely the learning of formal theater techniques in a traditional play or musical. These productions are open to all students in grades 5-12, and are entirely separate from all classroom fine arts instruction. This fall our students brought down the house with a modern take of William Shakespeare's Mid Summer Night's Dream. Now they are bringing this theatrical production to competition on March 5th.
Fine Arts is offered to all students in grades 5-12. Students study theory, history, and multiculturalism, integrated into the hands-on curriculum. Students also learn techniques in a variety of media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, scratch board, collage, and print making. Our creative classes offer an increased awareness of cultural literacy and the value of arts in society.
