BCA Annual Dinner Celebrates Another Year of Progress, Raises Nearly $50,000

“Continuity of Leadership” Emphasized As Strength For Continued Growth

BRADFORD, MA, Apr. 3, 2006 – Bradford Christian Academy’s Second Annual Dinner on March 30th attracted nearly 300 attendees and raised close to $50,000 to fund school programs and expansion of the school’s campus. Held recently at DiBurro’s elegant function facilities in Haverhill, the event featured an evening filled with celebration, inspirational speakers and a clear statement of vision for the school’s future.

Headmaster Larry George outlined plans to explore avenues to accommodate new grade levels and overall expansion in BCA’s student enrollment. “We will add an 11 th Grade class to our program for the 2006/2007 school year and expect enrollment to be in the range of 85 students this fall – double that of our first school year. Based on our experience and projected enrollment, it’s evident that we will outgrow our present location within a relatively short time. Consequently, we are looking at a wide variety of options in the Bradford area to accommodate this growth,” he stated.

George reiterated that Bradford Christian Academy’s long-term vision to become a regional college preparatory school for middle and high school students, grades 6-12. With a campus located at the former Knipe School, Bradford Christian Academy currently serves students from more than a dozen cities and towns throughout the Merrimack Valley and North Shore as well as New Hampshire towns near the 495 corridor. While it is rooted in Christian teachings, Bradford Christian Academy is independent of any specific church or denomination.

Honored guests at the event included Dennis Runey, founder and former headmaster of Portsmouth Christian Academy; Rev. David Midwood, former pastor of West Church and current president of Vision New England; and Dr. Richard Gross, former president of Gordon College. George pointed out that, “Not only have these gentlemen generously shared their insights with Bradford Christian Academy, just as importantly, their long-standing leadership with their respective organizations has provided as a model for our own Board and administration at BCA to follow. We believe that a long-term commitment and continuity of leadership are critical to our sustained progress and achievement. I am pleased to announce that our Board members and I have agreed to continue in our roles to ensure that this remains a priority.”

Students also joined in the program, performing a variety of musical selections under the direction of Caroline Sawyer. Live and silent auctions provided a festive touch to the evening.
